Did you ever hear about korean skin whitening?
In Korea, to have a beautiful skin is the tradition. The Korean are the first consumers of beauty products in the world, and they are deemed to have a beautiful skin quality. That’s why Korea is a leader in asian whitening products.
As an introduction, I encourage you to have a look at these different korean products. You will see that korean skin care products are not “all in one” shots and miracle potions, but rather a complex layering of interacting serums, lotions and creams.
This quest for perfection requires above all a flawless white skin, a more important target for them than the look or makeup. Korean people have beautiful clear skin because it is almost a social obligation, an investment for the future: perfect white skin promises a good marriage, and from an early age, women are passed from mother to daughter the actions of their ancient beauty ritual. Although this is difficult for us to imagine, Korean mothers do not hesitate to offer their daughters a plastic surgery as a gift for their 18th anniversary, to make them look better and have more chances to find a good husband …
When in France or United States you put 2 or 3 face creams every day (serum, day cream, more specific treatment if necessary), the minimum in Korea is 5 or 6 layers to get a perfect white skin ! This is called the “layering”, which involves applying layer after layer products. We now understand better why they are the first consumers of cosmetics in the world — and why korean whitening products are among best skincare brands in the world…

Korean whitening products: a standard of Asian beauty
Everything unpacked korean whitening cream is justified by Asian standards of beauty: an even complexion, clear and bright and pale ivory near the (sign of purity). We must fight against the formation of brown spots by protecting the harmful effects of sun and its UV wicked. Umbrellas, sunglasses, clarifiers and UV, used even in winter, are among the various strategies.
Unlike Europeans, who tend to look for a sunny vacation destination, you will see very few Korean strutting on the beach for sunbathing! Instead, I have seen many Korean women cover up from head to toe to hide from the sun. Some even wore face masks, covering the bridge of the nose, forehead and cheeks.
In Japan, this cult of whiteness has a name: “bihaku” (bi = beautiful / beauty – haku = white). We thus find a lot of skin lighteners and whitening facial masks in Korean and Japanese cosmetics.
